Lighter roasts experience lower temperatures which preserves more acids and aromatics. Generally has a light brown color, less body, the origin flavor isn’t eclipsed by roast flavors, also carries the most caffeine.
A ideal roast level. Generally has a medium brown color, balanced, bittersweet, medium body, the flavors specific to a particular coffee are still expressed in the cup.
Dark roast is origin character eclipsed by roast character. If you buy coffee for its distinct origin characteristics, heavy roasting is at odds with revealing those nuances. Generally with a dark brown color, bitter, thin body, carbony. However, our dark roast is substantially lighter than traditional dark roasts that are usually oily and almost burnt.
Keep it Fresh
Fresh roasted coffee beans is essential to a quality cup, so buy your coffee in small amounts, ideally every two weeks.
The best way to preserve your coffee fresh is to store them in an opaque, air-TIGHT container away from sunlight, heat, and moisture at room temperature.
